As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
I’m Mark, the person behind Kayak Mad. Some links on this website are paid affiliate links. If you follow one and make a qualifying purchase, I may earn a commission. It doesn’t add an extra charge to your purchase.
How the links work
Amazon is currently my only affiliate programme. Product links in the shop take you to Amazon UK, where you can check the current price, specification, availability and delivery options. The purchase is with Amazon or the seller shown there, not with Kayak Mad.
I identify paid links near the recommendations as well as explaining them here. If I join other affiliate programmes, I’ll update this page and disclose those links too.
Personally used or researched?
Personally used by Mark means I own or have used the product in the past. It doesn’t mean I still own it, have tried every version or have carried out professional testing.
Researched pick means I haven’t personally used the product. It is a suggestion based on research, not a first-hand review.
The products currently in the shop that I have personally used are the Intex Challenger K1, kuou dry bags, Rhino lashing straps and the kayak storage cover. The other products are labelled as researched picks.
Why I include a product
I choose kit for its suitability for readers and the sort of paddling equipment I might need myself. I’m a normal hobby paddler, not a professional equipment tester. What works for me won’t necessarily be right for you, so check that the size, features and intended use fit your own needs.
I’m happy to recommend useful equipment without an affiliate link. Earning a commission doesn’t mean I’ll ignore drawbacks, and I won’t accept payment that requires a positive review.
Free products and sponsorship
I have not received free or discounted products, paid trips or payment for coverage from brands or sellers. Some equipment has come from friends or been picked up free through places such as Facebook Marketplace. Those were not brand sponsorships.
If I receive gear or payment from a brand in future, I’ll say so clearly alongside the relevant content. A supplied product would not buy a positive opinion.
